The world's first production electric supersport bike - the TTX02 - has been unveiled by English company Mavizen. Apart from being a remarkable achievement in itself, what makes it interesting for us here at OSICT is that the bike has its own onboard Linux open source operating system.
A second world's first for the Mavizen machine is that it is also the world's first motorbike to have integrated IP connectivity. This makes it possible to tune and monitor the supersport bike remotely through its integrated WLAN.
Other features include:
- USB system bus for unlimited plug-and-play devices
- Drive train used by the TTXGP Isle of Man 2009 champion
- Remote factory support
- Weight (without batteries) 110KG
- Top speed 130mph
The production run is planned at fifty machines with delivery in March 2010. They will retail at around the $50,000 mark.
